Die Struck Lapel Pins begin with creating the die of your lapel pin design. Then a sheet of copper, brass, or iron is stamped using the die, creating an impression of your design in the metal. Shape-cutting molds are made separately, and the pins are cut out to the outline of the design shape. Plating is done next: for this type of pin the most common is gold on gold, but other metal platings such as silver and black nickel are available. The raised metal surfaces are then highly polished to a luster finish while recessed areas are left with a sandblasted look.

Die Struck lapel pins can also be finished with an antique finish, as shown in the examples above, which gives the pins a unique, aged appearance, and greatly increases the contrast of your design.
